Draining Goodbyes....

Well...let me just say that my eyes are semi-swollen from a few (river) of tears over these past few hours.  Mark is doing his darndest to keep me calm/collected/happy (aside from carrying my heavy laptop bag around the airport  ha).

So we are sitting in Pearson Int'l at the moment awaiting our boarding.  We board in about two hours, so we have comfortably laid ourselves out on the furniture here.  Tonight's flight will take us to Hong Kong....a 15 hour flight.  After that we will take our last/connecting flight to Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA which will be a breeze at a mere 4 hours in the air.

As I said good-bye to all of my family, friends (loved ones), I remember this familiar feeling of "WHY DO I/WE DO IT....IT'S SO HARD TO SAY GOODBYE," but as everyone upon departure assured us we will have a great time...a time to grow, change, explore, love, etc.  We're ready for this new venture in our lives together...so I will try to set the sad thoughts out of my mind, and dwell on the upcoming adventure.

Mark read a fair bit of our 6-year-old South East Asia Lonely Planet…. He has a ‘rough’ route planned…my mom voiced that she would like us to NOT go to an area where we could encounter Gorillas/Guerillas and not the furry kind. So the locations that we are looking at venturing to are Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and perhaps Laos.  Who knows, maybe we’ll find a beautiful beach and just never want to leave….I guess work will be calling eventually, but we’ll have about 5 weeks to meander around.  Mark has previously travelled in Thailand and Cambodia, but for me SE Asia is a new neck of the woods.  I have always dreamed of exploring this area, so for this time to finally be upon me is a pretty amazing feeling.

So, I have included several family pics of our good-byes….some tearful, others not at the exact moment of the photo, but I can assure you moments after were.

Thanks to our family, Mark’s and mine for putting up with us as we were in between adventures, for driving us to the airport, putting a few spending dollars in our pockets, filling our bellies, and being just FAB!  Can’t thank you enough :)

Well I best be off….my bags are sprawled everywhere, woulda thought this was my first trip ;)  Cheers to friends, family, and all you out there following.  Love ya lots! Megs XO
(yes, I’m getting tearful again)

My Papa ('Old Dog') and Mama ('Spring Chicken')
Never have I called Papa an old dog, but I frequently call Mama my SPRING CHICK, so I found this quite fitting (partially); Papa's pretty darn young at heart :)

LOVE!
