Calgary was Calgary. Not much to say except the valley there is beautiful. We received a lovely oil change from Mr. Lube and stayed in an even lovelier Howard Johnson.
The drive into the mountains is one of the best drives in Canada. After the continued flatness of the prairies, to see the mountains looming on the horizon is surreal. Words cannot describe.
The setting of the wedding was at Storm Mountain Lodge, roughly midpoint between Banff and Lake Louise. It sits directly on the border between Alberta and B.C. The lodge was beautiful; the wedding even more so. I ended up being the videographer for the wedding; halfway through the ceremony, the officiant put a pause on things and instructed me to find a new angle. Awkward.
The view of Storm Mountain from the lodge is magnificent. I could sit and look at that mountain all day. I have so many favourite mountains here, I've lost track. At the lodge, we met up with the bride and groom Lori and Jeremy; Meg's old friends Amy and Evan, Ali and Jer. Lori and Jeremy had worked at the lodge for years; it's where they fell in love. They are very close with the owners, so the lodge was the appropriate place for them to tie the knot.

By the time we went to bed on Friday night, it was already snowing. Yes, snowing! We woke up to a winter wonderland and counted ourselves lucky that we had put on snow tires before leaving Ontario. Whew.

On the way to get wedding photos done at Lake Louise, we quickly drove by a pack of big black wolves. Megan thought they were bears at first. Those things must be man-eaters; I wouldn't want to have car trouble around these parts. :(
